Emergency Medical Services medics have responded to a 22-year-old man who was seriously injured this afternoon by aerial fireworks at Iowa Beach.
EMS said the accident occurred at 1:16 pm. In the area of Hapalua Street and Fort Weaver Road.
EMS said in a report that the man sustained injuries to his hand, chest and face "as a result of the explosion of aerial fireworks".
Paramedics treated the man and took him to hospital in a serious condition.
