Crucial web services company Amazon AWS is in trouble today, with issues affecting services like Slack, Imgur, and the Epic Games Store for some users. It doesn't look good if you're working from home, some Slack users can't view or upload photos, and Asana's work management tool has been interrupted. As of 6:13 a.m. PST, Amazon said it had restored power to the affected servers, but users may still experience problems in the future.

In an update on the incident, Slack said its services were "having problems uploading files, editing messages, and other services." Asana said the problems constituted a "major service outage," with "many of our users unable to access Asana." The Epic Games Store said the "internet outage" affected logins, library, purchases, etc.

This is the third time in as many weeks that AWS issues have had a significant impact on online services. Two incidents occurred earlier this month involving AWS that ended up destroying a slew of platforms and products, excluding streaming sites like Netflix and Disney Plus as well as smart home devices like Ring and Wyze security cameras.

Existing outages appear to be less prevalent but still noticeable, with some users unable to fully access services and others only experiencing intermittent errors. DownDetector.com displays reports of issues related to the above platforms, as well as news aggregator Flipboard, online learning site Udemy, dating app Grindr, streaming service Hulu, IoT services from Honeywell and Life360, and Samsung's SmartThings.

The official AWS health dashboard blamed issues with outages in a single data center, affecting a single Availability Zone (USE1-AZ4) within the US-EAST-1 region. At 6:13 a.m. PST, the company said it had restored power to the data center and was making progress restoring affected cases. However, users will likely continue to notice the effects of these interruptions for longer while updating and restoring systems.
